Naveed Khan - Managing Director

Since 2003 Mr. Khan has operated World Tech Partners, a consulting firm that advises companies in venture investing and strategic business development. In that role, he has had major consulting assignments with several global firms:
  • Tsunami Network Partners (TNP), a Yokohama, Japan based venture investment group
  • Weyerhaeuser, a USA based forest management and products company
  • Waste Management, an alternative energy and re-cycling corporation
  • Deere & Co., a leader in farm and construction machinery
  • Google, the global leader in organizing and managing information
From 1999-2003 Mr. Khan headed Siemens Venture Capital USA, which is regarded as one of the best functioning corporate venture capital funds in the industry. At Siemens, he led a team of investment professionals that invested in 32 start-up companies and 27 venture funds. Mr. Khan has also served on Boards of several startup companies in the Silicon Valley, and has overseen the growth of other high technology companies as an advisor and a board member. Currently Mr. Khan serves on the Board of two Wireless and Information Technology firms, and as Executive President of Strategic Venture Association (strategicventureassociation.com), a trade group of Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) organizations in the US.

Prior to joining Siemens Venture Capital, Mr. Khan headed the Business Development and Investments group at Infineon Technology. Based on his recommendations, Infineon acquired 2 companies and made investments in 6 other startups. Prior to that role, he served in Infineon’s Embedded Software Group, where he was responsible for managing a large software development team creating software for customers in the Wireless, Industrial and Automotive sectors.

Prior to his tenure with Infineon, Mr. Khan served 11 years at National Semiconductor, where he held various management positions in Engineering and Marketing. In 1994 as Head of National’s Embedded Software Group, he launched a major product for the consumer appliance market in Japan and Europe.

Mr. Khan holds an MBA from State University of New York at Buffalo, and a BSEE from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore Pakistan. He has been trained in Executive Development and Venture Capital Investment programs at Harvard Business School and University of Western Ontario, Canada.
